Fabriholics Anonymous

Now for my post about how much fabric I have that is ready to turn into quilts.  I spent the day after Christmas going through all of my fabric.  I am only posting the fabric that is ready to turn into quilts.  I still have lots of fat quarters and half yards that do not have a project assigned to it.  I did just order 10 yards of Bella solids white for background fabric.  A lot of the quilt patterns I like have lots of negative space.  Now no more fabric for six months except for backing and binding.  I need to finish up some of these projects.  I have a few more surprise projects for family which I did not post.

A Little of This and A Little of That

Just a little post before I do my Fabriholics Anonymous post this evening.  I did get a few things done over the long holiday.  I had Tuesday through Friday off.

I started out with this stack of string blocks and added six more to make a lap size quilt. I got these string blocks in a swap a couple of years ago.  I am determined to finish up all of my projects that had completed blocks.

It finished up like this.  I gave it to a friend who will finish it up and give it to the Alzheimer wing at her Mom's assisted living.  It has lots of nice seams to fiddle with.

I also had  numerous blocks from my Block Swap Adventure.  I had enough for the quilt top and enough to piece some into the back.  I have finished the top but do not have a picture yet.  It turned out to be twin-sized and will make a nice quilt for our guest bed.  Below is my stack of blocks.  I never changed my profile so all of these are in traditional fabric.  I wanted to have enough to make a quilt.

I also have a picture of the Lucy Boston blocks I have so far.  I have a long way to go to make a queen sized quilt.

I did get some additional goodies before I start my fabric diet.  I got some more Denyse Schmidt fabric both FMF and Chicopee for my stash. I do so love her fabric.  Also, Craftsy was having a wonderful fabric sale and I got a stack of Amy Butler Soul Blossoms for about $1.25 per FQ.  I also scored on a stack of Kona FQ's.  I got 40% off of the sale price on these since I bought a four yard cut of Kona Snow a few weeks back.  I am finally going to get around to doing the 2012 Block of the Month quilt with Amy Gibson.  Love all of her blocks in the sampler quilt.  I got a spider web ruler from my Amazon gift cards.  I am going to make a few spider web quilts with fabric from my ever growing scrap bins.

Merry Christmas

I am heading down to my daughter's to celebrate Christmas.  I did a little last minute Christmas sewing yesterday.  Two drawstring bags for my grandson's Lego toys.

I mailed my Farmer's Wife quilt to my sister.  I got to visit with her at her home in Northern California.  It has a cottage feel to it with wide plank wooden floors and vintage lace curtains.  It just looked it needed an old-fashioned quilt to go with it.

Finished with Hexie Blocks for December

I finished up sewing my Get Your Hex On block for December.  She sent the fabric and the 1/2" hexie paper.  I can tell I have come a long way since the first hexie block I made.  The 1/2" hexie's were much more doable. I am sending this to England.

The Lucy Boston block is out of my own stash.  She wanted red and white (mostly red).  I had just gotten some red and white fabric that worked perfectly.

My December Queen for the Lucy Boston block sent me these goodies with my November block.  She had just moved to Japan and picked these up for me.  So cute.

I finished up my Block Swap Adventure blocks also.  I just have not taken pictures.  I have to send these to Austrialia.  I hope to get to the post office and get them out Monday.

Goodies for the Guild Meeting

I got my mug rug and done for our exchange.  We had a lot of fun at our White Elephant exchange.  We opened and stole from others to our hearts content.  We each made a mug rug and bought a matching mug.  This is my mug rug.  I paired it with a bright and shiny red starbucks mug. The fabric is from Basic Grey for Moda.

I also brought all eight of my maple leaf blocks.  They were fun to make but not as quick and easy as the previous month's blocks.

I think my favorite is the brown pearl bracelet.

I worked on my hexie blocks for both of my bees today.  I got both my Lucy Boston and 1/2" hexie blocks basted.  I should have them sewn together by tomorrow.

EQ7-I Was A Winner

A month or so ago I won an copy of EQ7.  This was a PC version.  I have a Mac.  My husband has a PC laptop.  We decided we were going to get a new all-in-one computer with a 20" monitor so that we could load the EQ7 and some fancy photo editing software on it.  Last weekend it happened.  We found a good deal over the cyberweekend.  I now have my software loaded.  Have not had too much chance to use it yet but I have watched the videos.  I am sure it is going to be great.

I would like to thank Patricia at Quilting Lines for this wonderful opportunity.  I am sure that it will help me design more of my own quilts and be a more productive quilter.

Blocks, Blocks, Blocks

I finished up my October and November Block Swap Adventure Blocks.  One scrappy trip and one windmill.

I also got three modern maple leaf blocks completed for our charity blocks for December.  I love all the fall colors in these.  I might have to make a Modern Maples quilt for myself.

I am digging into my stash to come up with some of the fabric.  I purposefully bought some of it just for these blocks.

I had a really nice Thanksgiving at my daughter's house in San Antonio.  Got to see the grandson.  That is always a treat.  I bought some backing fabric at the various Black Friday/Cyper Monday sales so I can complete some  Christmas presents.  I think I am going to have a very busy month.
