I made the commitment to pass along some handmade items to my readers. So, the first five people who express an interest in getting a handmade item from me please leave me a comment. I am excited to share my passion for quilting with everyone. Quilting has changed my life and I can only express this in my quilts, purses and other quilty items that I make and pass along.

Round the World a.k.a Sunsprite
I whet my appetite for making a scrappy trip along quilt. I had gotten some Tina Givens Christmas fabric before Christmas but just finished up my quilt. I used the Sunsprite pattern from Villa Rosa. After I started that quilt the Instagram world burst out with the Scrappy Trip Along. This quilt is one big round the world block. I will get to my Scrappy Trip Along quilt soon. In the meantime I will have to be content with this.

Very Very Purple Quilt
I finished quilting my husband's Christmas present after Christmas of course. He had picked out the fabric months ago and I had pieced it. Finally got the quilting done and the binding after Christmas. He loves purple. I mean loves it. Every time we go to a quilt store or JoAnn's he is picking out a purple fat quarter. I hope this purple quilt tides him over for a while. I used Turning Twenty Again. It is one of my favorite patterns. Goes together fast.
Very Purple Quilt
I finally made my December block for Block Swap Adventure. She wanted Kaffe and bright. I pulled a star block pattern from my Quilt Pro, resized it to 12" and this is what I came up with. I think I will make more blocks using this pattern. It is time-consuming to cut but it comes together pretty easily.

Madrona Road Challenge Fabric
I have to admire those of you who have quilt shops or etsy stores. I had to cut up the Madrona Road yardage into fat eighths. It was so time consuming. Then I had to pretty them up into bundles. I finally finished up tonight at 10:00 p.m. The meeting is tomorrow. I did not think it would take me so long. Anyway here is my stack of fat eighths waiting to be bundled up and my pretty bundles.

Me and My Sisters
I had 10 fat quarters of a line by Me and My Sisters all ironed and ready to go for a couple of months. In line with my new resolve to try to use up my stash, I felt like it was a good time to sew something. I have a four year old granddaughter who loves pink and purple. There is a lot of both in this line. I got the top sewed together but it is going to sit on the shelf until I get the binding on my other quilt and a few more quilt tops basted. I am determined to get through my UFO's before I go too wild on new projects.
Lucky me. I got a Kindle Fire HD for Christmas. I promptly took Hunger Games out of the lending library. I got through it in two days. Now I have to wait to get the next one. You can only borrow one book a month. I think my next resolution will be to learn more about blogger so I can get everything to line up. |
