Shop Hop Day 2

I ended up helping my friend Jessica at her shop on day 2 of the shop hop.  Of course that meant I had to buy some more fabric.  I decided I was going to make handbags for my daughters and granddaughters for Christmas.  I have not gotten beyond zipper pouches and fabric baskets yet so I bought sale fabric for bag practice.  I also decided to splurge and get six fat quarters of Anna Maria Horner Hand Drawn and some Cotton Couture solid to make a small quilt.  I certainly got plenty of practice in cutting and folding fabric.  Makes me glad I do not have a fabric store.  It is a lot of work.

I won some goodies from a my friend Barb's blog at  Bejeweled Quilts by Barb.  She had some Heat N' Bond and fusible vinyl to give away.  She is trying out these new products.  She does a lot of applique.  I am excited to try it out.

Austin Shop Hop Loot

I went to the Austin Shop Hop today.  Picked up some goodies.  I got some great deals.  Cut fabric was 20% off.  There were six shops on the hop.  I picked up a little something at each shop.  I did not get too carried away except for the Japanese novelty fabric quilt kit.  I picked up some Bella solids in turquoise and pink, a hot pink zipper, some pink thread, cute purple polka dots, a yard of FMF, 3 yards of a cute orange fabric for backing, and three fat quarters.  It was loads of fun even if it was over 100 degrees today.

Austin Shop Hop Goodies

Earlier in the day I finished up one more ruched bag out of the London Calling fabric.  I had some cute Japanese fabric for the focus print on the front.  Got to love the bunny.  I made this for my friend Jessica.  Oops.  I think the handle should have been on the other side.  She will have to deal.  At this rate I am going to have to order more of this fabric.
